We are looking for a web developer with expertise in web mapping and data visualisation to join us at QUT. The position is fixed-term, full-time (or potentially part-time) for 10 months. The application closes on Sunday 24th July.

Selection criteria
1.   Excellent knowledge about building web applications in the context of web mapping.
2.   Solid experience in using map-based JavaScript frameworks like Mapbox.js, Cesium or NASA Whirlwind.
3.   Excellent knowledge of all aspects of web development, including client-side technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery); server-side technologies (e.g. MVC, MV* frameworks such as Django) and database technologies (e.g. Oracle, MySQL).
4.   Experience with web-based data visualization, in particular using D3.js.
5.   Experience with Client - Server communication and REST services.
6.   Familiarity with agile development approaches, use of version control systems and documented experience with writing Unit tests and testable code.
7.   Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to liaise with a wide variety of clients together with extensive experience in the preparation of clear and concise documentation for varied audiences.

Key responsibilities 
- Plan, design and develop the scenario explorer dashboard application, ensuring that good practice standards are implemented and project objectives are delivered within agreed time, scope and budget constraints and to a high level of quality.
- Collaborate with developers at UNSW project partners to  ensure that the front-end development fully integrates with all required back-end services
- Identify potential issues, risks and opportunities in consultation with the project team.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of the technologies used in the development of project deliverables and remain up to date with contemporary web development and management practices.
-Compliance with health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices.
