We’re pleased to announce iO Associates and BJSS have teamed up to bring you the first of many events from The Bristol Tech Symposium, Bristol’s first and only friendly(ish) all-inclusive tech debate series! We’re kicking things off in October with our debut meetup and can’t wait to welcome you all!

We will be joined by panel members representing various disciplines (including dev, BA, delivery, test, etc...) who will present their experiences and challenges around their respective areas of expertise in relation to our guiding topic: ‘Are Programmers the Problem?’. No management-dictated agenda, no highbrow digs: this is a genuine opportunity to discuss and share common themes, risks, and rewards involved with shaping our modern world and its future.

From ethics to data, barriers to entry, complexity, and much more, our team are keen on exploring all angles around this theme in the hope we can work these into our day-to-day lives.

This is an interactive event - we want to know what you think and to share your opinions! Our panellists will have some pre-planned opinions/ideas to hand, but the discussion will ultimately end up in your hands.

Breaking the mould from traditional meetups, we’ll pass the ropes to our guests to further the conversation in a small group format (fuelled by pizza and drinks, of course!). We want you to be heard and new ideas to be shared so come geared up for an evening of insight!

Doors will open at 18.00 and our panel debate kicks off at 18.30. See the full agenda below:

18.00 – Doors open - networking & drinks
18.30 – Kick off and introductions
18.40 – The debate begins
19.25 – Small group debates (and pizza)
19.55 – Closing remarks
20.00 – Networking and drinks
20.30 – Doors close

Don't miss out! Places are limited so get signed up today!
