Join us as we hear a reading from writers published in "The Best of the Burlington Writers Workshop 2013" as part of The Burlington Book Festival.
We'll have four events for these readers. Here's the schedule.
12-12:30: Caitlin Corless
Caitlin Corless is a writer, singer-songwriter, and librarian. Her story, "Hello, Daddy" appears in our anthology. Originally from Connecticut, she now lives in Winooski, Vermont.
1-1:30: Erika Nichols
Erika Nichols lives in Burlington and is a native Vermonter. She writes poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, depending on her mood. She served as the poetry editor for our anthology and her essay "Detained" and her poem "Neptune" appear in it. Her poetry has been published in Haggard & Halloo. She has a BA in Liberal Arts with concentrations in International Development and Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College.
2-2:30: Anne Averyt
Anne Averyt is a poet, essayist and commentator on Vermont Public Radio. Her poetry has appeared in 580 Split, Riverlit, Counterpoint and The Aurorean. Her poem, "Why Did They Build Venice On Water?" is published in our anthology. She is 2nd Place recipient of the Louise Wiehl Prize in poetry.
3-3:30: Tony Whedon
Tony Whedon grew up in New York, the son of artists. He is the leader of PoJazz, a poetry-jazz ensemble. His essay "On Happiness" appears in our anthology and his work has been widely published elsewhere, including in A Language Dark Enough: Essays on Exile, which won the Mid-List Press First Series Award for Creative Nonfiction in 2004, and in Things To Pray To In Vermont. He lives in northern Vermont.
All readings and Q&A sessions will be in the Courtyard of the Main Street Landing Performing Arts Center, facing Battery Street.
