Radio commentaries, essays, travel handbooks, letters…I used to write short stories and have even written one poem. Maybe I'll try that again sometime!
It seems that most of my writing has to do with what I call 'translating between cultures' - e.g. Germany and the U.S., science and the general public, or questions of how we humans relate to the places and landscapes we live in.
Too hard to choose, but Michael Ende is high up on the list. Also Astrid Lindgren, Geraldine Brooks, Bernd Heinrich, Ken Follett, Rainer Maria Rilke, May Sarton, Hermann Hesse, Willem Lange (no relation ;-)
Hermann Hesse, Michael Ende, Astrid Lindgren - ideally all three!
Write things that are meaningful to other people, and publish more - I enjoy being part of a larger conversation than the ones inside my own head.
Closet journalist (radio commentaries, essays) and editor. I appreciate the synergy, support, and inspiration of this group and look forward to giving more focus to this part of my life and getting more work out there.
Excellent. Very well-organized. I appreciate the connections with the larger community as well as the BWW community itself.
