The Fortinos Community Room is a GO!
I feel bad for missing the previous one (damn work travels). So I'll be bringing a treat to make up for it. (no, it's not steak for everyone)
BYOG - Bring Your Own Gear to play along and code together.
Topics of choice
- Handling files within iOS.
On a PC, you can read/write/transfer and use folders to organize files. But how do you manage that on iOS? (iCloud? DropBox? Mail? etc.)
- Attributed Strings vs Plain Strings : what are they good for and when to use them?
- Portrait/Landscape fun. Handling multiple UIView orientations. (it never seems to go away)
- CS193P help for those doing it.
- Dishwashers! Everything you wanted to know but was afraid to ask. Sponsored by @stevex :)
"Design critique" (new!)
This is a new idea I'd like to try out where you demo to the group your app or a portion of it that we can then provide constructive feedback on its design. It's not so much a focus on code, as it is on UX.
We can be your focus group with a fresh set of eyes to briefly discuss our take on your design concepts and if necessary what we might recommend to improve it.
This is because we all use a variety of different apps and see things done differently, that might benefit others in improving their UX way of doing things as well.
It's a safe place to get feedback and will improve all of our design talents along with it.
And lastly, if you find a great tip that helps your app development or marketing, bring it with you to share it.
We've got plenty of room, so don't be shy and join us for another great evening of geeking out within Apple's ecosystem.
It's like WWDC. Without the ticket price or crazy line-ups.
