2nd Annual Paddle Breast Cancer

Please meet at the Folly Boat landing at 1:00 pm for an approximate 1:30 pm launch.

2nd Annual “PADDLE BREAST CANCER”

Check out Fern on TV!!!

Join us Saturday, October 5th for a 3-hour calm water paddle past pristine salt marshes, observing abundant wildlife, while raising awareness and funds to support the fight against breast cancer.

This trip is suitable for new paddlers.  Guided by Fern, an ACA Coastal Kayak Instructor who is a breast cancer survivor herself.

Please call Sea Kayak Carolina at[masked] to make your reservation -- a $10 donation is suggested. Each participate will receive a kayak-related item as a thank you for your participation and donation. Proceeds will be donated to Breast Cancer Action -- working to end breast cancer. You may donate more than $10 if you so desire!

Kayak rentals are available for anyone needing kayak equipment at an additional $30.  Come out to help make your voice heard and show your support! Bring friends and family! Lifejackets must be worn, properly fitted and zipped up.  We will depart on ebb tide and land at a sandy beach to relax, before returning on flood tide.  Estimated arrival at the ramp upon return is approximately 4:00 pm.

Paddle in the name of a friend or loved one. Your donation is greatly needed and appreciated.

For all those who are unable to attend, please do consider sending a donation for those in need. We just learned that a paddling friend here in Charleston, mother of 3 and without health insurance, had a double mastectomy yesterday. A donation to help her or the Breast Cancer Action organization will go a long way to help - it's not about the paddle. Thank you!

Thought my foot would be up for it but it definitely is not - I will look forward to this paddle next year!

I have been told that I must work from 4-midnight on Saturday for an event. I'm sorry, but I'll make it next year!

I'm new to meetup and the wonderful world of kayaking. I have an Acadia 11.5 sit in. Is there a specific type of kayak needed for this trip? I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but like I said, I'm new to kayaking.

What a great opportunity to honor and support our friends, family and loved ones who have fought or are fighting this battle. I'll be looking forward to participating and supporting again this year.
