What we're about

New to Chicago? Or just want to discuss great books with like-minded friends? The concept is simple. We’re a global book club for likeminded women to discuss great books! All members of the book club read the same book over the same period; members then meet up in their respective cities at the end of each month to discuss the book and exchange views. This forum provides a rare, and relaxed atmosphere for women to meet other like-minded women over a glass of wine and share a common passion.

Check out our home site to find out more about how we are taking over the world - one book at a time!

June's Girly Book Club at 6:30pm *New Member Induction at 6:00pm*

I am very excited to read some history, well historical fiction, in June! Radium Girls by Kate Moore is a well researched narrative on the lives of factory girls. As one amazon reviewer, Kasia Olm, put it, "The suffering, the indifference, the greed, the lies, the audacity... 90 years later it is still easy to imagine it happening over and over again." We will meet at the Long Room is a relaxed bar and coffeehouse with a large, rotating list of beers. Bring cash for the photobooth in the back. They have food provided by the Biscuit Man, a separate company with a food counter in the venue. We have a reservation for the long table at the left on the raised platform. Just walk straight through the bar. More on the book here: https://thegirlybookclub.com/book_reviews/radium-girls Please visit our new site to RSVP. https://unitedstates.thegirlybookclub.com/chicago/ We are thrilled to be launching a BRAND new website - as you've probably experienced our last site was pretty slow and cumbersome so we've taken on board A LOT of your feedback and made this one much quicker and easier to use. We hope you'll agree. If you do have any feedback please let us know [masked] and we hope you can join us at book club this month - just a reminder - we welcome new members every month and women of all ages are encouraged to join!
