Hike near Estes Park (Crosier Mountain) Moderate/Challenging

Some of us are staying in Estes Park for the weekend & we invite day trippers up to hike with us!

This is a nice trail we hiked about 3/4 way in 2012. The trail is 8 mile round-trip, but we will go at a pace that is good for the whole group & with the philosophy that it's the journey, not the destination. :-) It its our goal to make it to the top of Crosier Mountain - so we will get an early start on the day.

Please be prepared with proper hiking gear and shoes, a backpack, and plenty of water and for you and your pups. This would be a great time to outfit your dog with a puppy pack!  Milo always carries his water, bowl, bags, and treats!

Once again, a great hike. I am glad we were able to get a little closer to the summit before the dogs called it quits. The weather could not have been nicer!

Was a really fun way to spend the morning - fresh air, exercise, good company and entertainment watching our dogs run around, dig holes and chase chippies!

I really like this hike a lot. Starting early is definitely key to finishing this one. The dogs get too hot to make it the whole way. Gorgeous views!

Sorry about the link - I just updated it with one that works. To get to the trail head we will be using - from Estes Park take County Road 43/Devil's Gulch Road about 6 miles to Glen Haven. Look for the funky stables, and park in the lot of off the street. You will see a sign for Crosier Mountain. - Directions from KOA.

We hope to start off around 8:30am - please be on time and bring supplies.

**Please note - this is a VERY twisty road - so take care if you have dogs that get carsick.**

The link for the trailhead doesn't seem to be working...

If we are coming for the hike should we park at the KOA or meet at the trailhead?

    Thank you,
