Tips for Hiking with the Group

Requested Minimum Requirements for Hiking with the Group...

  • Proper Footwear for Hiking
  • A backpack for yourself
  • Water for you and your dog (+ bowl) - at least 2+ liters depending on weather and length of hike
  • Snacks for you and your dog (quick energy)
  • Clothing layers
  • Poop bags, and way to carry (used ones) them out

The Ten Essentials... To truly be prepared for hiking in the mountains of Colorado, you should carry the top ten things that will protect you in the event of an emergency. We realize most of the hikes we do are not on 14ers, so we've outlined what you should carry on our usual 1-4 hour hikes. If it is a long (2+ hours) hike, both Mike and I will be carrying our packs with the ten essentials. For more information, see this video on the REI website: http://www.rei.com/le...
