An EASY scenic hike that includes a waterfall. Beginners welcome.
Meet at the parking area on Bread and Milk road between Bolton Rd and Valley Falls Rd, within the Preserve.
Starting out at the Belding Wildlife Preserve we'll do a loop then leave the Preserve following the Shenipsit Trail to hike the Valley Falls trails.
Distance: +/- 6 miles
PETS - Dogs are allowed. You are responsible for your dog & it must be licensed AND leashed if it gets underfoot. Bring proof of vaccinations too. If your dog has ever had an incident in the past, it cannot join in. Please bring food & water for your furry friend!
Equipment/Hiking Wear: As with all Connecticut Hiking Alliance hikes, hiking shoes/hiking boots are a must - we hike on trails not walking paths. Proper hiking clothing is important; please dress appropriately & be prepared for changing weather conditions such as rain or cooler temperatures at elevation. Cotton is NOT appropriate wear.
Food & Drink: Snacks - especially proteins, sugars & AT LEAST 2 liters of water. If you aren't properly nourished you WILL have trouble & negatively impact the enjoyment for the rest of the group.
Apres: Bring your own picnic! And a chair.
