We live within systems - the school system, the tax system, the corporate system, the social system, the ecosystem. Even our bodies are systems.
How do we understand, model and control these systems?
Welcome to the cybernetics book club!
At each meeting we will read and discuss important papers in the field of cybernetics - the study and control of systems. We will consider how the concepts, theories and techniques discussed in these papers can be used to model, understand and improve the systems that surround us.
In this second get-together we'll chat about chapters 2 and 3 of Ludwig von Bertalanffy (General System Theory) and Melanie Mitchell (Complexity: A Guided Tour) (bumped to April due to scheduling issues, and moved across the bridge to a quieter pub).
