More REBT/CBT Demonstration: Relationship issues

NOTE: This meetup was moved to Sunday because I will be at a professional training conference on Saturday.

Dear meetup members,

This meetup is designed to demonstrate REBT and CBT in action when it comes to the issue of relationships!

Have you had a recent breakup? Do you pick people who aren't kind to you? Do you have trouble communicating or setting limits? If so, please let me know if you'd like to serve as a volunteer.

I would like to have 1-2 volunteers and 1 backup volunteer.

  • Volunteering allows instant shame attacking.
  • It allows you to have a chance to see how REBT and CBT can be applied to your real word problem.
  • It gives you a chance to work with me.
  • It grants you complimentary admission to the meetup.

So, please let me know asap if you want to volunteer.

    Hi--to those who volunteer, please remember that you get to attend at no charge. I can probably only demonstrate with 2-3 folks per group, so please volunteer early. When you volunteer, please post that you are volunteering below. People after the first 3 can serve as back-up volunteers. Also, if you are one of our kind volunteers: About a week before the meeting, please begin to keep a journal/log of the stressful situations, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that you'd consider tackling during the group meeting. Logging this will help you to identify patterns. It will also help you to see which problem you'd like to go over with me. It is best to go over one that
    (1) you may be having a little trouble shifting out of yourself & is moderately distressing (as opposed to deeply distressing)
    and
    (2) you are willing to share with the group (with the knowledge that while I ask the group to maintain confidentiality, I cannot guarantee that they will). Thank you again.
