What will it take to get you to our meetings?

So, it looks like that past few months, the attendance has been low. For having nearly 400 members, we should see at least 20 people at the groups. I know people love Tux, some maybe they don't like the group? Fill me in, how can we get you to come and have fun?

Should this group expand to something beyond its current "networking" bounds?

I have been hearing lots of complaints both at the meetups, and outside, about how group x used to do this, and group y used to do that. Usually followed by, I wish they still did that. I contribute much of that to some leadership issues by several of the groups, people stepping down and nobody to step up, and general apathy. So, should we as a group take on some of these events? Here are some of the ideas that I had, feel free to start a forum thread to discuss others. In the mean time, I may have at least one sponsor set up to help, so I need to figure out what people would be interested in:

Should we have a more social (i.e. less techie) get together?

I have been posting messages from the other non-meetup groups that have a Linux theme here in the Denver/Boulder area. But these meetings are always technical or built around a single distro. Does the group think it would be worthwhile to have a social/networking style event? An event that focuses on Linux enthusiasts coming together to network and socialize? Soon, the Ubuntu guys will be getting together to welcome a brand new baby Jackalope into the world. So, maybe in May we could schedule a more generic networking event. If this sounds good, what type of event would you like for me to plan?
