Thanksgiving Demo and Dinner with RawDaddy!

November 15th Finnish Hall Berkeley- 6 p.m.

Update on this event: RawDaddy will be demoing his delicious Thanksgiving Day Dinner and will give people options in terms of portions. Those who want a real dinner may pay $32 and those who would like demo sample portions will pay $22 for the demo/dinner.

(Those who have purchased meetup memberships for $25 pay $5 less- so $27 for the demo and full dinner experience- and $17 for demo and samples* see about meetup memberships below)

We will have the demo and then a sit down Thanksgiving dinner with the community.

We have got a very exciting November meetup planned featuring the one and only RawDaddy. He will be demoing a thanksgiving dinner that promises to kickstart your thanksgiving with plenty of gratitude. What’s more, there’s an October Surprise that I hope everyone will be part of. He’s kickstarting a campaign to raise enough money to open a RAWDADDY's. A Fast Food Organic Vegan Raw restaurant in the bay area. He has a beautiful video that introduces who he is, why people love his cones, and gives you an idea of what he envisions. He is asking for what ever you can afford, be it $1-$10,000.00 to make this dream a reality for us all. There are great gifts with your donations. People love his food whether they are omnivores or raw vegans and that’s exactly why this food should be more readily available on an ongoing basis. So I’m really hoping we give him the boost he needs and we can all celebrate on November 15th.
He only has a limited time to make this happen. If you can't afford a donation then spread the word. This needs to viral in order to succeed.
To watch the video and find out all about it click HERE.

If you haven’t tried his food- you have got to hear some of the buzz about it:

“RawDaddy’s food combinations make me feel like I’ve left earth completely and wound up in a REAL raw food heaven.”

At his last demo: "RawDaddy's excellent creations were "dialed-in" and off the hook! I really enjoyed the great food, met some very nice and interesting people, and learned a lot - what more could you ask for?"

The demo dinner will be

  • Marinated Mushrooms,
  • a Root Mash that tastes just like mash potatoes,
  • Stuffing,
  • Cranberry Sauce,
  • Brussels Sprouts.
  • And on the menu but not demoed will be dessert his
  • Pilgrims Cream Cone made from pumpkin.

RawDaddy put’s his gourmet touch on this traditional dinner.

This meetup is $22, which includes the venue fee. For those who have purchased meetup memberships the cost is $17* (for more about meetup memberships see below)

*About Meetup Memberships

If you would like to purchase a membership, you will be able to waive these venue fees (ranging from[masked] per meetup) for an entire year. Go ahead and pay the lower price and then give me cash or check at the meetup. As a thank you gift you will receive a Hippocrates laminated folder on some aspect of the raw food lifestyle worth $8.95. People find them very useful. I have ordered more of them and now have ones on food combining, superfoods, rawfood pantry, detoxification or cleansing, dehydration, juicing, raw food lifestyle, wheatgrass juice and green drinks.

Here’s a link to see what you will be getting and to make your choice on which one you might want. Access the charts HERE

About RawDaddy:

RawDaddy’s Philosophy
The act of preparing vegetables is an especially life giving exercise, primarily because it leads to serving and eating foods that are good for you. But we don't think of vegetable cuisine, vegetarian, vegan, raw food, in terms of health food, alternative food, or spa food. As a result, we do not create vegetable dishes based on nutritional values. We believe that such things fall into place naturally.

If one pursues flavor first and foremost, and works with extraordinarily fresh seasonal foodstuffs, organic whenever possible, then one is surely going to eat healthfully. We prefer to get good health as a byproduct of eating wonderful, tasty, sensual foods, which nourish the soul and spirit as well as the body.

great meetup group, got to see some people I hadn't seen and learned you don't have to have a real turkey and cornbread stuffing to appreciate thanksgiving. Raw daddy, thanks again

This event was truly a blessing. Raw Daddy was incredibly generous in sharing with us his amazing recipes, his ingenuity, and his making this a momentous occasion for everyone. I don't think any of us have experienced anything quite like this raw thanksgiving feast with his gift for putting a raw spin on traditional favorites. The root mash was particularly amazing and the pumpkin cream cone of course was like going to gourmet rawfood heaven to quote a phrase. Volunteers worked really hard to make this happen. Thanks to Jeff for videotaping so we can share the recipes.

    Tim:
It is 1970 Chestnut St Berkeley- off of University near San Pablo Ave.
    So sorry for the confusion.

Also- Would you like to have a full dinner with the demo or demo portions only? I'm asking people who want a full dinner at the event to bring $10 more with them at the door. And also to let me know so RawDaddy comes prepared.

    • Doris B.

Yes. I want a full dinner. Will bring an additional $10 to pay for the full dinner (already paid the $22).

Hi Doris, my wife and I would LOVE a full dinner. I'll be bringing an extra $20!
      Thanks!

Did the venue change? I thought it was at 2141 broadway in Oakland, but now it's listed in Berkeley. Thanks!

There will be printed handouts of the recipes for both- since the recipes that are demoed will be eaten at the dinner

    November 5, 2012

  • Wendy

I have read the updated event description for 11/15 and want to confirm: there will be no printed hand-outs of the recipes for the food that is being made at the demo or the food being served at the sit-down dinner. Is that correct?

  • Lisa Q.

I can no longer attend. I paid for the full dinner at membership price $27). I would like to sell my ticket to someone if no refunds are allowed.

    Thanks,
    Lisa

Wendy: thanks to your question we have clarified and updated this event. The reviewer said the demo samples were generous- and yes I agree with them. Yet for people want a real dinner RawDaddy will provide it for $10 more.
We will have the demo and then a sit down Thanksgiving dinner with the community at a long table.

Update on this event: RawDaddy will be demoing his delicious Thanksgiving Day Dinner and will give people options in terms of portions. Those who want a real dinner may pay $32 and those who would like demo sample portions will pay $22 for the demo/dinner.

Per the suggestion in the event posting, I reviewed the comments from the previous Raw Daddy Meet-up event to determine what this Meet-up will be about. Please confirm that, like the previous session, the Thanksgiving demo will consist of:
    (1) a five-star gourmet meal in generous helpings; and
    (2) chef sharing tips, secrets, gourmet ideas, and all recipes

Since this is a Thanksgiving Dinner event, for the eating portion, will we be seated at a table, or in our chairs, watching the demo? Should we bring anything? (Chairs, utensils, extra food, etc.)
