Update almonds for $5 a pound

I'm posting this message for Diana. this is her update on the almond orders.

Thanks, if you respond to this e-mail I'll forward it to Diana. Otherwise Diana has given you information regarding orders.

I have some of your checks for a bulk order of raw almonds (about 30lbs), well below the 100lb minimum for the bulk rate. For this to work, please send in your checks now. I will need to put in a paid order by late October for early December delivery:

Send your order and payment to:
Diana Press, 2571 Mathews Street, Berkeley, CA 94702.

A raw food meet-up member asked how can we be sure that these are truly unpastuerized almonds because if the almonds are grown in CA aren't they by law required to be pastuerized?

California produces over 85 percent of the world’s almonds. Because you cannot obtain raw almonds any more at retailers, we are facilitating this group buy to utilize the loophole in that law that allows an individual to obtain 100 lbs. directly from a rancher, unpasteurized.

Here are the detailed instructions that I sent a couple of weeks ago...

$5/lb for unpasteurized, not fumigated, not irradiated, not GMO, minimally if at all sprayed, but NOT certified organic almonds grown in Central CA.

100lb minimum order, 50lb increments thereafter.

Send me a check for multiples of 5lbs only please of either, with your email address in the memo line. I heartily appreciate keeping with this as it will simplify the logistics immensely!

I've been advised to place the group order by late October to ensure a hold on the almonds. The almonds will be available for distribution late November/ early December.

I will notify you once we have achieved the minimum quantity and when the almonds will be available for pick-up either at my Berkeley home or at a meet-up event likely during the month of December. If we don't have the minimum, I will bring your checks with me to future meet-ups to return to you or I will shred, per your instructions.

Hi Diana, I just found out about this group almond buy. I assume you have already placed the order, but for the future does this usually happen around the same time of year? I would be interested in joining the effort in the future.

Best wishes,
