    6th & La Brea Brewery & Restaurant

Hey guys! This is a social event where you can practice your English with new friends. First you will come and find me to check in and then you can grab a beer or a tasty snack. Then will all get seated and chat. We will sit in pairs and switch partners every 10 minutes. During the event if you would like me to evaluate your English we will chat for 10 minutes and I will talk to you about your strengths and weaknesses. ****Please come prepared to get a drink or a snack. The brewery will not be happy with our group if we come and sit in their beautiful establishment for an hour and a half and we aren't customers. If we just sit there they may tell us that we can't do the event there in the future. We want them to love us so we can come back. :) What should I bring? I suggest you bring a notebook for any new words you want to write down and to have a translator app handy on your phone for when you want to find a word. What should I do when I get there? Come find me for check in. We will be inside the Brewery and I will have a dry erase board that says English Conversation Club.

Hey guys! This is a social event where you can practice your English with lots of new friends. First you will come and find me to check in and then you can grab a beer or a tasty snack. Then will all get seated and chat in pairs for 10 minutes at a time with a break in the middle to use the bathroom / get more drinks & food. You will be given a list of interesting questions to chat about with each other. Also, I'll be walking around and keeping track of time, so you can ask me any vocabulary/grammar questions you have while you're chatting. I highly encourage you to be active and ask me questions! Using new words/grammar to express yourself to another person is the best way to learn a language. ****Please come prepared to get a drink or a snack. The brewery will not be happy with our group if we come and sit in their beautiful establishment for an hour and a half and we aren't customers. I suggest you bring a notebook for any new words you want to write down and to have a translator app handy on your phone for when you want to find a word. What should I do when I get there? Come find me for check in. I will have a Duolingo ambassador badge on (because I am an ambassador for Duolingo) with the name Paige on it. Then you can get something to eat or drink and find your seat.

Hello English learners! We are having our English class as usual but this time with delicious food. Come practice your English, eat, socialize, and learn something new. Details: *The cost of food/drinks is NOT included in the event price and everyone must order at least a drink We will meet in the open air courtyard at the Hart and the Hunter, a delicious restaurant on Melrose Avenue. Our party's name is the "English Conversation Club." You can ask a waiter where our table is if you can't find us. When you arrive, come find me for check in. Please come early so we can start our event on time. Event Schedule: First we will get checked in and order some food. Then everyone will introduce themselves and answer a question about themselves. After that, we will answer our Question of the Week related to this week's podcast. If you'd like to prepare for class, then definitely listen to this week's podcast here: https://www.betteratenglish.com/041-motivation-conversation-with-bj-fogg-1 Also, our Question of the Week is: What do you do to motivate yourself when you aren't feeling motivated? After that, we'll have a group discussion about the new words, phrases, grammar, and content of the podcast while chowing down ("chowing down" is slang for "eating"). Parking -- You can park on Hayworth (non-metered parking) or on some of the other non-metered streets North or South of Melrose. Melrose has metered parking of course. We can't park at the restaurant because it's also a hotel and that's where the hotel guests park.

We will be in the nice lobby area. :) How to park: There is lots of street parking on Sunset Boulevard and on the streets parallel to North Alta Vista. Also, I called Ralph's (around the corner) on the phone and they said that they have free parking for 2 hours. However, I've never tried this myself, so it's safer to park on the street if you can. :)
