IoT soars w/ GE and AutoGrid Analytics, DT and VeloCloud SD-WAN, IoTium Network

GE-Predix,Deutsche Telecom, and VeloCloud, AutoGrid and Iotium, are advancing Industrial IoT Network with real time analytics, Secure Scalable Network Infrastructure and SD-WAN. At this meetup:

1. GE Predix will describe the pillar of GE's strategy of realizing the vision of Industrial Internet.

2. IoTium will describe how a cloud managed secure Industrial IoT network is used for smart city lighting and transportation.

3. VeloCloud and Deutsche Telekom Silicon Valley Innovation Center will describe SD-WAN for industrial 3D printing and robot automation.

4. AutoGrid Systems will describe how they are organizing the world's energy data by bringing Internet scale cloud-computing to process and analyze the petabytes of energy data produced from an increasingly networked and automated grid.

Presenters:

Himagiri Mukkamala, GE Predix Software
Head of Engineering

Himagiri (Hima) at GE Software lead the Industrial Internet Platform (Predix) organization, the pillar for GE's strategy of realizing the vision of Industrial Internet.

Prior to this, Hima was Head of Predix Core Platform Engineering to delivering software that provides capabilities in big-data, M2M space with both an on-premise and Cloud delivery model. And prior to that he spend 8 years with Sybase with responsibility for strategy and development for SAP Mobility Platform SDKs and tools including Hybrid Web Container, Mobile Object Modeling Eclipse Tools, etc.

Louis Schreier, Deutsche Telekom, Inc.
VP Technology Innovation and Portfolio Development

Louis Schreier is the VP for Deutsche Telekom’s Innovation Lab in Silicon Valley. Prior to joining Deutsche Telekom, Mr. Schreier was a computer scientist and research director at SRI International, lab manager at  HP Labs (among other HP operations), and held senior positions in a number of startups.

The Innovation Lab in Silicon Valley focuses on two broad topics, Software Defined Networking and Mobile Software Development and has collaborated with organizations including: ONUG, ONF, ONRC VeloCloud, Mozilla, Stanford University, the University of California Berkeley, UMass, and Columbia University as well as organizations within Deutsche Telekom.

His talk will describe the work his lab does in the SDN space.

Sreekanth Kannan, VeloCloud Networks
Director of Product Marketing

As Director of Product Marketing at VeloCloud, Sreekanth is responsible for driving the Go-to-Market strategy to accelerate customer acquisition and SD-WAN. He authored the "SD-WAN for dummies" publication along with Dan Pitt from ONF foundation.

Prior to joining VeloCloud Sreekanth has worked at Aerohive Networks, VMware and Cisco Systems.

Raj Pai, AutoGrid Systems
Global Head Product Management and Marketing

Raj is global head of products and marketing at AutoGrid and brings over 18 years of experience in Enterprise Software, Big Data, Business Intelligence.

Raj drove adoption of big data and data science applications for customer engagement and revenue optimization for large financial institutions, retailers, game publishers, and media companies, while he was with Claritics (which he co-founded) and Aster Data (acquired by Teradata). He also led global product management at two successful data-driven companies, Informatica (Nasdaq: INFA) and Tibco. Early in his career he was a design engineer for Intel's pentium chipsets.

Raj holds an M.B.A. from U.C. Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, a M.S. in computer engineering from University of Hawaii and a B. Tech in electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. His passions outside of work include coaching lego robotic teams, biking, and spending time with family.

AutoGrid Systems is organizing the world's energy data by bringing Internet scale cloud-computing to process and analyze the petabytes of energy data produced from an increasingly networked and automated grid. AutoGrid employs big data analytics to generate real-time predictions that create actionable insights for electricity generators, providers, grid operators, and their customers to improve the utilization of the grid and manage the cost to serve. AutoGrid is backed by Foundation Capital, Voyager Capital, E.On, and ClearSky Fund.

Ron Victor, IoTium
Founder and CEO

Iotium, a silicon valley IoT Network Infrastructure software company, provides a secure, intelligent and flexible mid-mile architecture for all IoT verticals. The Iotium solution is a horizontal configurable architecture that can be used for any IoT deployment, such as smart cities, smart grids, energy installations, industrial automation, connected cars, and transportation.

Iotium solves extremely critical issues including data security, data management, QoS (Quality of Service) and Edge analytics that IoT deployments face. Iotium seamlessly connects the TAN (Things Area Network) and the Cloud providing requisite protocol and radio translation south-bound to the TAN layer and provides an API to analytics providers north-bound at the cloud layer. Iotium thus provides a unified plug & play policy-driven solution for a fragmented IoT world, while fulfilling the critical needs of security, efficiency and quality of the mid-mile between the TAN and the cloud.
