Tang Yuan dessert 汤圆糖水 or glutinous rice balls (汤圆) is a Chinese snack often eaten during Winter solstice aka "dong zhi" (冬至), which usually falls on the 21st or 22nd of December

The Winter Solstice Festival (Dongzhi) is one of the most important festivals celebrated by the Chinese during the winter solstice.

Traditionally, the Dongzhi Festival is also a time for the family to get together. One activity that occurs during these get-togethers is the making and eating of tangyuan (湯圓) or balls of glutinous rice, which symbolize reunion.

Come join this class and impress your family and friends with your own home-made tangyuan!
