Mythbusters Museum Exhibit! @ San Jose Tech Museum

NOTE: This same event is copied on both Saturday and Sunday of this weekend. Please select the event that better works with your schedule.

--------------------

Ever wanted to know why you could make farts explode? How phone books could be stronger than steel? Or most importantly, how you can become a warrior for the scientific method while blowing things up with reckless abandon?

Then hold on to your walrus mustaches cause the San Jose Tech Museum will be having a Mythbusters exhibition from October to January! We will be going on Sunday, November 11th to catch the 2 PM exhibition. Get there about 15 minutes early so that we are sure that we are all there and ready to go through the exhibition together.

The exhibition includes hands-on experiments, live demonstrations, and the ability to fool around with props from the show! You can read more about the exhibit at the museum site, and also at the Mythbusters Exhibition home site.

Regular exhibition passes are $22. If we have ten or more people interested in group passes, then the price goes down to $17 each. If you are interested in being part of a group pass, please tell me so when you RSVP, and you will be expected to send the $17 in by October 10th so I can make the reservation. You do not have to be part of the group tickets in order to be part of the meetup though - in fact, if you think there is the chance you might have to bail out, it'll be a lot easier if you plan to get the regular pass.

Passes to the exhibition will also get you into the rest of the museum! Which is totally worth it.

Edit: Wow, it's already full! Just an FYI that the group tickets are only available to people who have RSVPed. Anyone who gets bumped from the Wait List to confirmed RSVP will also become eligible for group tickets, so long as the bump and your payment to me happens by October 10th.

I am also feeling sick this morning and will have to drop out.

I was looking forward to going to this event for a long time and it looks like a lot of fun.

I hope you feel better, John! The exhibit will be open til mid-January, so you'll get another chance to go at least.

Just a reminder that I'll be outside of the museum at 1:30 tomorrow, in a bright purple sweatshirt. Don't forget that the museum is very close to the VTA, and also that street parking is free on Sundays. Also, I'm considering going to Peggy Sue's on Park Av. after the museum, so if anyone wants to go with for burgers and fries, now you know. You can ask me in person tomorrow if there are any group tickets still free (bring cash, I'm not playing IOU with anyone) <3

I am going to be working at the Tech as a myth buster. I will try and ensure that I work this shift. It's going to be a blast! Literally :)

DID YOU EVER KNOW THAT YOU'RE MY HERO. Yeah, someone at another Meetup mentioned that one of our own had infiltrated the exhibition! Be sure to give us all of the juicy tips you have!

I am unable to tend because I am extremely sick. I've already paid Gina for my ticket, so if anyone bumped up from the waitlist wants one for free, I'm totally cool with it being given away.

Just a friendly reminder - make sure your RSVP is updated as we head into the weekend, and if you are a YES for the Saturday event, please take yourself off the list for this one. We want as many geeks as possible to be able to participate!

Heads up guys - there are two group tickets open (at $17 as opposed to the normal price of $22). Bring some cash the day-of if you are interested in them, and the first two people to ask for them will get them!

Hi, I work at the Exhibit as a Host/Presenter and have put in a request to work and perform for when you arrive. Let me know if I can help with anything at all beforehand. Cheers! Lisa

If its at the Tech why such a low # of people allowed? Can't we open this up more?

It's a low number because I believe there are limits to how many people can get into the exhibit at a time, plus this is my first time hosting and I think a 50 person group would overwhelm me XD But there is no saying that there can't be multiple Mythbusters museum events, if someone wants to run another one.
