Clown Improvisation 1-day Workshop!

Hey,

Anyone fancy 'Clowning' - to let go of control, be spontaneous & have FUN?

Been approached by, David Wheeler, a GP in Greenwich since 1988 to highlight this 1-day, local course to all GF members.  Certainly sounds fun and a great way to release everyday stresses & busy, London living! :0)

David says: "I totally recommend this workshop to anyone for whom empathic communication skills are important to their everyday life.  Participating in Clown impro is a great way prevent emotional exhaustion and burn-out!"

More about David:

David is a trainer of junior doctors and a teacher of supervision skills. He has trained in clown improvisation with Nose to Nose since 1993 and published an article on the benefits of this work on doctors’ communication skills in the British Medical Journal in 2008. Links to this and other articles on clowning may be found on the Nose to Nose website: www.nosetonose.info/

More about Clowing:

Through the course you discover more subtle ways of listening and relating to one another. It is refreshing to be allowed to make mistakes and to play with them. It develops mindfulness and resilience and is an antidote to the stress and frustration of increasingly regulated work!

You'll work in a group of about twelve.  Starting with warm-up games, vocal and physical exercises and move gradually into improvisations. This helps develop spontaneous play, responding from the heart and being more present in the moment. Breaking with convention, making mistakes and landing oneself in it are all welcomed as ways of creating new insights.

Costs:

£70 for the day which includes lunch & other refreshments (cheque payments sent directly to David).

For any further information, simply email David directly or leave a comment for him below.  Good luck, David and looking forward to hearing how it goes :0)

Smile On!

Nicola

I had an enjoyable day as the organiser and facilitator. 6 participants (one from Meetup plus 5 of my colleagues) came and gave very positive feedback, saying it was more fun than they expected it to be.
