Hey Jill, sorry to hear this happened.  I'm not so sure I would blindly pay that bill though.  Let me tell you what happened with me.  I ordered a couple of appetizers and eight glasses of wine (no, not all for me).  After an appetizer and a couple of glasses of wine, the bartender (the female one) said she wanted to close out the tab.  I had no idea why she wanted to do that, as it was only about 6:00 or so and I wasn't going anywhere.  My friend was also confused.  At any rate, we closed out at that time.  I asked the bartender if my tab would remain open since it was still early.  She said it would remain open (even though I settled and she returned the card to me).  When I went to leave for the night, they had a difficult time tracking down the order for the other appetizer and 6 or so glasses of wine.  I had to restate my entire order so they could charge me again (they never did take my card a second time).  After literally 10 or 15 minutes of them huddled around the cash register, I finally had another bill to sign.  It was different than the original bill (not just the amount, but the style of bill itself) and there was no place to leave a tip.  The guy bartender said it was because the female bartender had closed my bill out.  I had no idea what was going on, but I signed the credit card bill and left a cash tip.  It was really odd.  At any rate, I kept both receipts because I have a hunch something unusual will show up on my credit card.  As of a few minutes ago the initial charge is on my statement and the second one isn't.  I have no idea why they closed out the original bill.  I also heard others wondering the same thing, so I was not alone.  The female bartender was just going around closing out tabs half way through the night.  Without any question in my mind, these people had no clue what they were doing.  Again, I had a friend sitting with me and she was thinking the exact same thing.  So, I'm not too confident that the missing $200.00 is anyone's fault other than the bartenders.  In fact, it might not be missing at all.  It was unbelievably poorly managed (I was even considering writing the restaurant manager). Just thought I'd share my experience.  Feel free to pass this along to the restaurant and they can even call me if they'd like.
