Mt Tam Anyone?

I explored a truncated version of this hike a couple weeks ago, and it was what you would expect from Mt Tam, lots of nice woods, views, creeks; just great stuff. I will be exploring the additional trails with you if they are new to you also.

This route starts at Cataract trailhead at the corner of Pantoll road and East/West Ridgecrest Blvd. Drops slowly down to Alpine lake then marches over the hill crossing the saddle near west peak before returning to the trailhead. There are so many trails within this part of the park, the actual route possibilities are just about endless. Below is a rough idea of elevation and miles taken from a topo - hiking map. There is approximately 2000' of elevation gain. We all know Mt Tam area can get crowded quickly, so 9:30 is about as late as i would want to start.
