HIKING Friends take note: If you are not interested in this hike, you DO NOT need to RSVP "NO". The "NO" feature is reserved for those hikers that need to cancel.

This hike is rated A for distance, pace and elevation gain. THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER HIKE! We plan to cover about 8 miles at a good pace. If you have not hiked this distance before or prefer a slower, relaxed pace, please join us on another hike.

I am placing everyone on the wait list, but I will move you over quickly, if you have hiked with me before and can keep the pace. I try to maintain a group of similar abilities/speed so that I ensure we all stay together on trail. If you have not hiked with me, please check in with me via messenger to see if this is a hike for you.

We will explore the trails in Tarrywile Park. With more than 21 miles of trails over varied and scenic terrain, hiking is one of the major attractions of Tarrywile Park for enthusiasts of all abilities and interests. Six color-coded trails have been developed and mapped with difficulty ratings from moderate to advanced. A beginner can enjoy a leisurely walk in the woods, while the expert hiker can tackle a challenging route over more difficult terrain. We will hike the advanced terrain!

Remember to come prepared with PLENTY of water, energizing snacks, hiking poles, layered hiking clothes (NO cotton) and a first aid kit. MICRO SPIKES ARE REQUIRED THIS TIME OF YEAR. In addition, it is important to HYDRATE BEFORE you arrive on the hike!

In the event of bad weather, this hike might be modified, changed or canceled. Always check back before the event for updates as I post updates in the comments section. Make sure you get meetup notifications from this group and emails too.

Directions/Parking: Please DO NOT rely only on google maps. Do your homework and check the driving directions ahead of time. Unfortunately, the new meetup design is causing lots of problems with posting accurate pins on the map. It might show up differently on the desktop than on the mobile app.

We hit the trails promptly at 9:45am so arrive early to get your gear on.

Below are some helpful links: Please print out a copy of the map or use the alltrails app or maplets app which are very helpful to have on your phone.

If you choose to hike with me, you understand that I am not an expert hiker. With you RSVP, you accept, acknowledge and understand there are risks involved in hiking and you join this group knowing that you are hiking at your own risk. You are responsible for your own safety and you do not hold the hike leader or organizer responsible for any injuries.

While I do not collect a meetup fee, there is a suggested donation of $10 a year that you can give Dennis or send it via Venmo or Paypal. He does so much for the group so I encourage you to support his efforts. ~Thanks
