About The Trail: This is a really easy hike along the east bank of the Chattahoochie, just south of the Sope Creek trail system. In the past, we've done the main trail, including a stopover in the Bamboo Forest for a bite to eat. This time, we'll do the two new trails they've added.
Distance/Skill Level: This is an easy hike with only one hill that takes about two minutes to ascend. Overall pace is good for beginning to intermediate hikers (2 - 2.5 miles per hour). Total distance should be 5-6 miles. Though no special equipment needed, walking poles might be helpful. Re food, since this is such a short hike, we'll make a five-minute stop to grab a bite, otherwise just some water and a snack should suffice.
Where To Meet: Please meet at the lower parking lot at the trailhead next to the bridge. See you there!
Directions: From GA 400, take 285 West, exit at New Northside Drive (this is two or so exits before the exit for 75); take left onto Northside Drive; continue up, then over the hill; at bottom of hill, make a right onto Harris Trail; right onto Whitewater Creek Road; first right at the sign for the park. Drive to parking lot.
