Blood Mountain - From The Backside

Hike Blood Mountain from the back side! These beautiful trails provide a very different look to getting to the top of Blood Mountain, and the trail back includes a semi-secret path along a running creek that's very cool!

We'll meet at Winfield Scott Park. After the pay station, pull into the first parking lot on the left. We'll start on the Jarrad Gap Trail (trailhead right near the parking lot), and return via the Slaughter Creek Trail. No special equipment needed, but please bring water and some food, as we'll make a stop at the top for lunch. Note: Obviously, there will be some elevation gain (about 1,200 ft over the four mile trip, but it is spread out pretty evenly). We'll travel at a good pace, so this hike should be for intermediate to advance hikers. And as always, no dogs or children.

Carpool Options: I will run one carpool; we'll meet at the Best Buy near North Point Mall (exit 9 off of 400) at 9:15am. Please email me if you'd like to carpool with me, or send a group email if you'd like to get a group to carpool from a different location.

Notes: If it is raining the morning of the event, I will send out a group email and post the cancellation on this website by 8:30am. Also, since it is Mother's Day AND a 90-minute drive to the trailhead, I reserve the right to cancel the event if we have less than ten people show up.

I was thinking that maybe we just missed connecting with the other group, but it doesn't seem as though anyone else has posted anything. I'd like to see their pics to see if we were in the same trails

Now there's no proof that you hiked with "4 wonderful women?" :-)
