find the joy in life It is our Mission: To promote Humanist thinking and ideals. To provide a gathering place for like minded individuals and families, as well as seekers of truth. To provide ethical education and promote strong families within our congregation. To perform good works within the community. To make available Humanist clerical and officiant services. Humanism is a belief that we live in a logical and scientific universe and that there is no evidence of supernatural beings. That we must rely on ourselves and each other for strength, wisdom, and support. Humanism teaches that kindness, generosity, and responsibility can be learned and developed by us and our children. We also believe that CHURCH is good for people. The Humanist Assembly of Washington brings you and your family the benefits of belonging to a congregation of shared belief and ideals without the supernatural beliefs of most other churches. Located in North Seattle, we hold regular and special occasion services that feel like any other church. But instead of praying to a supreme being we call on each other for support and look within ourselves for strength. Led by Pastor Dave Ptasnik, each service includes prayers, recitations, and a positive, uplifting message to help you improve your life and your outlook on life.
