How did you come to learn about this group?

I learned about the group through a fellow member of the Association of Personal Historians, Martie McNab.

What do you enjoy most about genealogy? (If starting out what do you think you will enjoy the most?)

I enjoy everything about genealogy except the tedium of the recordkeeping. There have been amazing stories uncovered and connections made in the journey of discovery. I would like to expand my technology toolkit in pursuit of further expansion of our family trees.

As my daughter explained in her fifth grade essay a few years ago, every bone in my body is Irish. I have spent the last ten years restoring three farms and stone cottages in County Longford. It is the birthplace of my great grandfather.

What Joan is saying about this Meetup Group

Waited for a few minutes to meet Bridget, but she was too busy. The group arranges wonderful events, but I did not have a chance to talk to anyone else in this setting
