Downtown: Chili Cook-off - free!

Let’s connect for a fun and yummy downtown event that is free and filling, too. Let’s do the Chili Cook-off while walking about
downtown. It’s a cheap date so bring a friend.

Saturday, January 19, 2013
11:30 am - 1:30 pm

Come early at 10:30 a.m. and join Bobbi Jo for coffee/tea downtown at Café Casa, 128 S Kalamazoo Mall. Maybe arriving downtown early
will allow you to find a convenient parking place by Bronson Park.

Otherwise meet up with the GLAC group at 11:15 a.m. outside the Café Casa and we will divide and
conquer to hit as many of the nearly 35+ chili hot spots as our tummy’s will allow. Plan your must do stops
by reviewing the list in the following article. If you arrive downtown late, call me at[masked] to find us.

Bobbi Jo Gamache

Below are the rest of the details:

Warm up your January at the annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, January 19. Get a taste of more than 35 chili recipes created by downtown Kalamazoo’s business owners and vote for your favorites. It’s a free event sponsored by WNWN/WVFM and MLive that runs from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM, and it includes family activities.
Like what you try? A Chili Cook-Off Recipe Booklet will be available to download after the event. And when you come, bring extra mittens to donate to our “Mitten Challenge” to help Kalamazoo area children keep their hands warm.

Enjoy hands-on arts & crafts and cookie decorating at Mall Plaza during the Cook-Off, with more activities and special exhibits planned at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum after the event. Check their website at for more information.
