The group is based Liverpool for people interested in writing. I am looking for people who would like to meet up in a laid-back atmosphere to talk about their work, be it books they have written and released or not. This meet up will be very relaxed. People who want to write but aren't sure where to start are more than welcome. Whether you write and release independently or write for fun just for yourself at home, I'd love to meet you. If you are looking for a group where you want to really critique somebodies work and pick apart peoples writing styles then this group is *not* for you. There are a number of groups that are perfect for that and I have no problem with them but these groups can be very daunting for new authors. I want to create an atmosphere where we encourage each other and help those who are unsure about their writing and want a bit of encouragement. If you want to take the step into publishing your own work or just want to meet like-minded people and have a chat about writing then come along and make some new friends. Help me turn this first page, you never know what amazing worlds await us...
The next Liverpool Laid-Back Writers Meetup will be on Sunday 29th May at midday - upstairs at the Ship and Mitre in Liverpool City Centre.
Please message me with a link to short (~1,500 word) excerpt of your writing by Sunday 22nd May, I will then send a message out to those attending, with links so that we have time to read it before the meetup itself. I'd suggest sending me a Google documents read-only link or a Hermit link set to be shared so that I can do this.
This month's writing prompt, for anyone who would like one: "the guardian." Of course feel free to ignore the prompt and just send in an excerpt of whatever you are currently writing!
Please do bring £1 if you are able, to help me cover meetup fees.
As ever, please do RSVP if you intend to come, and un-RSVP in good time if you later realise that that you can't make it.
