Are you in, or have you previously been part of a Poly relationship?

Yes. I have had three relationships since identifying as poly. One began as a triad, changed to a V when I stopped dating a person in the triad, and then morphed into an N when I started dating my boyfriend. Now, it's just me and my boyfriend, who identifies as monogamous and supports and encourages me to pursue other relationships. I am his first poly partner and he is my first mono partner since identifying as poly. It's working out very well for us :)

Briefly share what you think Poly is all about

Having the capacity for more than one emotionally intimate relationship at a time with the knowledge and consent of everyone involved. It is consensual, ethical, and responsible non-monogamy. For me, poly is an identity and not a relationship descriptor (partly because I believe a relationship consists of two people, even if more than two people are romantically involved. Each pair should be able to relate to one another and set boundaries in their individual relationships.) Just like a gay person doesn't stop identifying as gay because they're single or a monogamous person doesn't stop identifying as monogamous because they're single, I do not stop identifying as polyamorous because I'm in one relationship or no relationship at all. Poly is a state of mind, not a state of circumstances.

I started exploring polyamory 5years ago and began identifying as such 3 years ago. I have a boyfriend who currently identifies as monogamous. He is as supportive and encouraging of me as I am of him.
