Dear friends,
It has been a few days now since Israel's brutal killing of unarmed civilians aboard ships carrying aid to the beseiged Gaza strip. The incident took place in international waters, which is a direct violation of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Furthermore, Israel's actions were apparently to maintain the blockade, which itself is illegal under Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention.
Israel's increasing disregard for International Law and human life has evoked widespread condemnation globally and seen tens of thousands pour out onto the streets to protest.
Join the national demonstration on the 5th June from 1.30pm outside Downing Street. Our usual fortnightly protest of Ahava's stolen goods will go ahead, but with a condsened time. We will be outside Ahava from 12pm-1pm, (Covent Garden, 39 Monmouth Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9DD) from where we will together march to Downing Street to join the national demonstration.
Update
LPRG had 5 friends on the Freedom Flotilla who although traumatised have been accounted for.
