Hello, I'm organising a sailing weekend on the 7/8th of December, so if you’re interested in coming along, please let me know! I’m looking for 6 people to join me on the boat.
Elizabeth Star (Bavaria 38ft) has 3 double cabins and a saloon. It is fully equipped with a colour chart plotter with AIS on the helm, and GPS.
Berthed in Gosport Marina, pontoon C, opposite the barge. Ask for an entry fob at the marina office (this will also give you access to the showers/bathrooms).
19:30 – meet on the boat; drop off the bags and briefly familiarise ourselves with the boat
20:30 – dinner at the local pub (Castle Tavern)
07:30 – breakfast, safety brief & prepare the boat
09:00 – depart for Lymington, via the Solent
16:00 – arrive in Lymington, dinner at a local pub
05:00 – breakfast & prepare the boat
06:00 – depart for Gosport, via the Needles, St Catherine’s Point and Bembridge
15:00 – arrive in Gosport Marina
16:00 – finish
Portsmouth Harbour is the nearest train station. South West trains operate a service from London Waterloo; the fast trains (1hr 40mins) run every 30mins and cost about £33 for a return. A ferry service from Portsmouth Harbour to Gosport operates every 15mins and costs £2.90 for a return (hold onto the ticket, as you will need it for the return journey).
Gosport Marina is a 5min walk from the Gosport Ferry Terminal.
Postcode for Satnav – PO12 1AH
There is parking in Gosport Marina; one free parking space is provided by the charter company, which will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Discounted parking is provided for additional cars, and there is also free parking nearby.
All-inclusive cost (boat charter, food, fuel, mooring fees) is £110 per person.
Please get in touch if you’re interested in coming or if you have any questions; my email address is firstname.lastname@example.org and mobile 07738954058.
