What better way to spend the longest evening than enjoying the fine weather (hopefully!!) and eating and drinking in one of London's loveliest parks? The Rose Garden is a lovely setting for a Midsummer Nigth's picnic, so Bring a bottle of wine (no Blossom Hill please!) or beer if you prefer and some food for sharing, frisbees/games and maybe something to sit on. I will provide a couple of rugs and plastic plates/cups/cutlery/serviettes etc. and will collect £1 per person to cover the cost of these. Around twilight men need to beware of strange creatures lurking in the park (I will explain more on the day!) so we may move to a nearby pub afterwards.
The Rose Garden is near the south east corner of the park (nearest tube Hyde Park Corner) - see the map in this link: http://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/hyde-park/map-of-hyde-park Click on 'Horticulture' and it's marked as No.2
This will be a great event for mingling and mixing with other members of the group. 2 years ago 50 people came to this event so let’s see if we can get even more this time!
I will park nearby at 6.30 and will be at the Rose Garden by 6.45 latest, but there will be someone there at 6.30. Call my mobile if you can't find us - 07765-596850. Last year we didn't have much luck with the weather so just in case it's not good this time there will be a Plan B – I will send further details the day before.
See you there.
