A wine tour to Northern Greece at the end of June is coming soon! So if you want to find out more about this fascinating area and what one of the oldest wine producers in the world has to offer then come and join us.
What makes Greek wines so fascinating are the range of indigineous grapes varieties grown in the country - in Northern Greece names like Xinomavro, Malagousia and Assyrtiko. But they also grow some of the French varietals like Syrah and Merlot and sometimes blend these with the local varieties.
The main wine regions in this part of the country are Naoussa, Drama and Amynteo. We will be tasting wines from some of the producers who we will be visiting during the tour (Kir Yianni, Gerovassiliou, Averoff and Art Estate) and in all about a dozen different wines.
During the tasting cheeses, bread and some Greek dips and other foods will be served.
