Patellar Luxation HELP!

Hi!

We are relatively new to the area and haven't had a chance to make it to a meet up group with our english bully, Twiggy. We used to attend bulldog meets up in NY where we lived and absolutely loved them. We just had a question regarding Twiggy's patellar luxation.

Long story short- our new vet in Los Angeles has recommended we do surgery on Twiggy's back right leg. She has a stage 3 luxating patella and a little arthritis is developing. We are not opposed to the surgery, but since we do not know many specialists in the area, we were wondering if any of you have experience with this problem, and know any specialists in Southern California whom we could meet with to discuss surgery.

Just a little background on Twiggy- She is 4 years old. She has had an occasional limp and stiffness when getting up and down. It doesn't seem to bother her, as she still runs and plays like normal. She does take arthritis medicine and other nutrient supplements to help with the inflammation. We keep her weight down- she is about 39 lbs.

I would really appreciate any recommendations, advice, etc. Any information helps! And hopefully we will be able to make it to a meet up group soon! :-)
