Some of you have already figured it out, but for those that haven't, I have recently modified the settings on this site so that any one of you can put on an event. It will immediately go on the calendar.
THE BENEFIT: A greater range of activities spread across a greater geographical area (and not biased to where I live).
THE RISK: We might end up with some non-relevant meetups. If you are not sure, just contact me and ask.
MY REQUEST: If you intend to have other members meet you at the activity, then be clear about where and when you are meeting. My usual policy is not to wait any longer than 10 minutes for a late person, but I typically leave my mobile number for any unforseen circumstances.
NO SHOWS: Can be a problem:( If you have had to book for the numbers attending, any fallout within the final 24 hours is a "no show". Please contact me and I will mark them as such. For any event more casual such as a market, I wouldn't worry too much, but it is irritating for the organiser and anyone who has inadvertently forgotten to attend should contact the organiser and apologise in accordance with good manners.
In all this should be a good thing...so give it a try.
