The Antipodean Steampunk Show

Contemporary technology and Victorian styling will collide in spectacular fashion during The Antipodean Steampunk Show. If today’s technology had been introduced in the 19th century, what would the world look like? The Antipodean Steampunk Show attempts to answer this question in a fascinating mash-up of past, future, and fantasy ... See more on the National Trust website.

If you so desire, wear suitable Steampunk/Victorian/Neo-Victorian/Gothic apparel (it is unlikely weaponry will be allowed so please leave your blunderbusts at home).

Otherwise just dress for a polite afternoon engagement.

FOLLOW-ON: For those who wish, it's likely the viewing of the exhibit will be followed by a tasty afternoon tea and a beverage or two somewhere nearby (perhaps Madame Brussels).

ADDITIONAL NON-HOSTED EVENT: Friday 1 Aug 6.30PM-8.30pm

Note there's also a 'Steampunk Conversation', a costumed event being offered by the National Trust on the Friday evening with talks by Uncle Cliff and others which might be of interest to some (bookings essential), but I can't attend so cannot host.

Got to the Friday night session & saw it all then. When this glorious exhibition started in Qld the objects weren't encased. This proved a mistake but unfortunately now patrons can't see machinery working, as much of it does. Eg. the green creature is visible in the cloning device.
