Try the Lions pub at Melbourne Central. Its quiet during the day and they have big booths that can fit around 8 as well as big park style benches out the front. They also do coffee and reasonably priced food with pretty good lunch specials such as a soft drink and pizza for $10.?

To be honest I thought Oriental Tea House was over priced for asian food.

Hi Nigel,
Depending on people's attitudes to being in the presence of the 'demon drink' (I work with moslems and mormons, so havta think like this) ?- pubs are always a good option - you can nurse a guiness/lemonade/coffee for a fair while and not get asked to leave, but food might not be an option in all pubs...? Tho we might have noisy competiition if the cricket/soccer is broadcasting!
See ya wherever you decide :)

Hi all,
I'm research locations for next week's meeting at the moment, so I'm looking for any suggestions you might have.

Particularly interested in anything relatively cheap, spacious (so a bunch of raucous sci-fi & fantasy fans can make some noise for several hours and not have management asking us to leave cool ) and preferably in the CBD (since this seems to be the easiest for most of us to get to).

The place we used for the first two meetings rates pretty well (Oriental Tea House), and it's nicely close to Minotaur, but variety is always a good thing!

So let me know if you can think of somewhere we should try...

N.
