Dances of Universal Peace/Sufi Events for December '11

From: John Hakim B.
Sent on: Thursday, December 8, 2011 2:55 PM

Dear Dancers,

Rumi’s ‘Urs is happening on Saturday, December 17.

Please note venue change! This will NOT be at the Friends this year! It will be in the Chapel Room at the Center for Performing Arts. This event goes back at least 10 years and is a perennial favorite. It will feature the Wild Moon Bhaktas, the Dances of Universal Peace and Baklava. Everyone who wishes is welcome to read their favorite Rumi poem or poems. Those who have come previous years know how much fun this is. Please find the complete info at the bottom of this email.

There is NO Dance on Christmas Eve, which is when it would ordinarily fall.

There is, however, a New Years Eve Party! There will be food and Dancing/Sufi stuff and a jam. We’ll go from about 7 PM to 10PM. It’ll be at the Center for Performing Arts. We hope all the teachers and Dance leaders can be prevailed upon to offer something. We will be bringing a meat-and-cheese plate and some rolls. Anyone who would like to bring something to share would be very welcome. We look forward to seeing you. Bring your instruments! Come hang out and eat, dance, and pray together!

Will is hosting Celebrating the Children of Abraham at the Friends in the usual Dances time slot. See below under the calendar listing.
