Looking to spend more time in Bay Ridge? I am, having returned to Brooklyn after a decade in Queens! Perhaps, like me, you do a lot in Manhattan, but wish you could also just hang around the neighborhood with new friends. We  brunch, lunch, and dine in various restaurants in Bay Ridge, as well as go to local community-building events, like concerts and fairs. While the focus is here in Bay Ridge, we venture off to venues in other parts of Brooklyn, like the Brooklyn Museum and the Heights Players. Membership is NOT limited to only those living in Bay Ridge or even Brooklyn, so those "out on the island" or in one of the other boroughs are welcome, too!

Similar to most meetups, "The (Mostly) Bay Ridge Neighbors" has a modest $1 organizing fee per event, payable to me at the start of an event, to offset the subscription cost of maintaining the meetup.

Please note our No-Show Policy: Because we've been kept waiting in lobbies, etc., for folks who didn't bother to change their rsvps, "The (Mostly) Bay Ridge Neighbors"  has a "no-show" policy where any member who incurs ONE no-show with no explanatory emails to me will be permanently removed from our membership rolls and not be allowed to rsvp for any more of our events. After all, would you keep a "friend" who stood you up and never apologized? Let's all respect each other's time and enjoy ourselves with a minimum of discomfort.

Like what you see about "The (Mostly) Bay Ridge Neighbors "? Then consider joining our sister groups, "Great Places in Gotham" (http://www.meetup.com/The-Great-Places-in-Gotham-Meetup/) , which focuses primarily on Manhattan events and museums, and "Friendly Native New Yorker Walking Tours" (http://www.meetup.com/Friendly-Native-New-Yorker-Walking-Tours/), where as a licensed NYC tour guide, I lead various walking tours in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens!
