About the Movie Club

The Movie Club is not a commercial organization nor affiliated with any organizations.

The objectives of this club are to:

  • Promote selective movies scheduled by the cinemas to members

  • Build rapport among members and organizers

  • Share movie reviews after the movie

  • Create the group as a part of one big family

  • Facilitate movie reviews in a warm, friendly, and open atmosphere where individuals are free to give feedback


  • All registered Meetup members are welcome to join the club.

  • There is no membership fee.


  • The club shall have a group of Organizers to maintain and host events. There are 3 categories of Organizers: Co-Organizers, Assistant Organizers and Event Organizers.

  • A member shall be an Assistant or Event Organizer once the Co-Organizers have reviewed and agreed that he/she has the potential to be one.

  • Organizers may appoint a member who has suggested an event, to be the host of that event.


  • Members are encouraged to update their RSVP status as soon as possible if they have RSVP 'yes' and subsequently are unable to attend an event, so that those in the waiting list are able to move up and go for the event.

  • Members have to ensure that payment for the tickets be made by the stipulated time/date for the events they have RSVP 'yes' to.

  • All members are requested to maintain the spirit of the group while commenting on forums or events. There will be zero tolerance for any comments or behaviour which violates the spirit of the club. Any offensive and sarcastic remarks will not be tolerated. The leadership team has the right to delete any comments which are deemed to be unreasonable and offensive, and to the extent of banning members in extreme situations. If there are queries and issues with any events posted, please contact the host organizer via email. However, constructive criticisms are welcome as part of the learning process.

  • All members are requested to refrain from promoting any personal or commercial interest unless prior approval has been given by the leadership team.


  • Organizers, in aggregate, could host up to 3 non-movie related events per month to enhance relationship building among members.

  • Members are welcome to host an event, provided the event has a movie component in it.

  • Event Host is recommended to have a maximum of 30 and 20 pax for RSVP to a blockbuster and non-blockbuster movie event respectively. Unless there is a demand to increase the number of RSVP, and approved by Co-Organizers, then the number of RSVP will be allowed to be increased to as many as the Event Host can managed.

  • The Co-Organizers have the right to delete any event if it is deemed to be unsuitable or illegal.
