File System Storage in Azure: Disks, File Shares and Storage Spaces Direct

When it comes to supporting Azure VMs with file system-based storage options, there are many. In fact, there are enough ways to offload file storage to persisted media that it’s a bit confusing which option is the most future proof, scalable, redundant, secure.

In this talk, to clarify the best and appropriate use of each, Eric Hendrickson, Chief Technology Officer, Provisions Group, will provide an overview and demonstration of three options: (1) Azure Disks, (2) Azure Storage File Shares, and (3) Azure-hosted Scale Out File Servers using Storage Spaces Direct.
