Virtual Appliance

I guess this is a bit too late however it would have been nice if someone were to create a VM Appliance with all the necessary tools already pre-bundled, as this would ensure everyone was using the same OS and development environment. From past experiences getting everyone's IDE/dev environment fully configured and working usually takes up a good portion of the time.

This is something that we're working on--the licensing is tricky, but we'll hopefully figure it out. In the mean time, we have some pretty comprehensive directions for getting Modelsim and Quartus II running on Ubuntu, which got a lot of people pretty far.
