[Roofdeck] April Events coming soon & Additional Resources

Hi Roof Gardeners!

We wanted to send a list of some events coming up this weekend and other interesting resources.

Happy Spring!

Current Events / Events Coming Soon

1) As a reminder, Leslie will be gathering with other group members on Sunday, April 22 at the High Line for Earth Day events.  You can find out more about the art performance at the event here:

2) The cherry trees at Brooklyn Botanic Garden are in full bloom now.  It would be a wonderful time to visit this weekend, before the blooms are done!

3) Our member Josh Buksbaum is heading to Coney Island to pick up milk crates to be used for container gardening.  They are sold for about $7.00/ crate, are modular and easy to deal with because they rectangular/square, and are a cheap alternative to some other types of garden boxes.  Josh says he is happy to drive anyone who also wants to buy the crates.  Get in touch with him if you are interested:  [address removed]

Also fun or interesting

1) Riverpark Farm on E 29th st gives tours every Tuesday for free, now that it is April.  We will be trying to arrange a group tour as a meetup, but wanted to share this opportunity.  Find out more here:

2) Hayseed's Big City Farm Supply is a new store open in Brooklyn that may be interesting for roof gardening supplies:
