A meetup in late July--we're looking for suggestions

Hi to everyone in the group. We have gained new members.

Our last (and first) meetup was ten days ago, but it's now deep into summer and everyone's plants are probably just about at their peak, so I thought we should schedule something for the last week of July.

We could always do what we did last time and meet at a local establishment before coming up to our East Village deck, (5 flights of stairs up) where we can entertain about 15-20, and the view is quite spectacular. Ideally though, I would like to see someone else's space and talk about their plants. Even though it's really about the camaraderie and trading notes about squirrels, bugs, good flowers, vegetables, nursuries and the like that make the meeting.

Our place on East 5th is on offer again, but I'm wondering if any of you have ideas for alternate gardens or roofspaces to meetup.. If your gardening space is small, we could probably do it in shifts on a given night, as long as your apartment could hold the rest of the people while they talked. So far nobody appears to have done any major stretches in prison, so it's a dependable bunch.

We can travel to Brooklyn, etc or different parts of Manhattan. Weeknight, early enough to see your plants, rain or shine. Ideally, you could find a bar, etc. nearby where we could gather bet 6 and 7:30. It's very unlikely that the whole group would come because whatever night you pick will not work for some members. Also anyone with a job is afraid to leave early now. So pick whatever night would suit you.

If it's a commercial establishment, most people will get a drink, or eat an appetizer. We have to wait at a place for an hour or so for people to trickle in, otherwise would have to meet up directly at your apt/garden. People need the opportunity to sit for awhile, although not necessarily all at once. Then we trade notes and meet each other and talk about plants.

Any suggestions? If so, please email me back.
And if you're a new member and I forgot to greet you personally, email me and I'll say hello.

Peter...fearless Leader.
