Native plants for rooftop gardens

Hey everyone, after reading douglas tallamy's "bringing nature home, I want to start planting more native plants on my patio garden (next season that is)

Can anyone suggest some flowering plants that would thrive in such a sittuation (planted, full to almost full sun, etx)

Hi Eric-
You don't have to wait till next season; (not sure if these are native) but plant some asters, perennial mums, Montauk Daisies, winter hardy pansies now and enjoy them for a few more weeks. Then they'll come back next year. Most of the nurseries have sales now so take advantage.
