The lesson is a bit too technical for most Social Ballroom Dancers. Furthermore, social dancers may not be able to use the amalgamations that are taught. (Social Dancers must be able to choreograph their own steps because there are always lots of other dancers on the floor.)
Try to pick up one or two new figures and don't worry about learning it all at once.
I would prefer that figures were taught so that dancers at this level could plug them in where ever they thought they would fit. I would also prefer that leading and following would be stressed more at this level.
All that said, if you wish to compete, these lessons are a real bargain.
As to the dance itself, the music is excellent, and the dancing alone is well worth the $15 admission price.
Cindy does an excellent job of choosing music that is fun to dance to.
