Trip Destination: Desoto Mine

Meeting Place: The parking lot of the Maverick gas station on the southwest corner of Fain Road and Hwy. 69.

Departure: 8:00 a.m. from the Maverick gas station.

Return by: Mid to late afternoon

Difficulty: Generally a 3.5 pushing 4.0. (see Trail Ratings ( We are traveling on shelve roads with loose rock with up to 15” ledges. With several off camber situations. Steep ascents and descents. This trail ends in a rock crawling section.

If you have any find of a lift, off road tires and a traction device in either axle you will most likely be fine.

AZ Pin Stripping could happen and vehicle damage is possible.

Not recommended for the novice driver. Street tires are not acceptable.

Special Attractions and Other Details:
Bring your camera, we will make stops as necessary. And don’t forget to bring lots of water, and a good spare tire.......and maybe a tow strap. Also, It would be a good idea if you had tow points front/rear on your vehicle as pulling on the axle can cause expensive repairs.
