Not long ago, Jimbo and I checked out this new route for us at a location where we recently did an out-'n-back hike, but this new loop hike is WAY cooler! It's an intermediate hike that will reward you with wonderful, sweeping views of the 101 corridor from the southern side of the Simi Hills.
We'll do a counter-clockwise loop on a mostly single-track trail going up with some semi-steep sections. The downhill is much easier and is on a single-track trail and fire road.
Distance: 4 mile loop
Elevation Gain: 1100'
Difficulty: Intermediate, will be too hard for beginners.
Sunset is at 7:53 pm, and the last few minutes may be in the dark, so please bring a flaslight.
See a few pics of this hike below.
Directions: Very easy, even without GPS (which you should NEVER, EVER trust. I am careful to provide correct directions here. Take the 101 to Lindero Canyon Road, heading north. At Wembley there is a little turn-around and you can park smack on Lindero Cyn right there.
Known Dangers: Rattlesnakes, slip-'n-fall.
