It's that time of the month again...

....and We need a Full Moon Happy Hour Hike! :)

Watch the sun set (6:04pm) and the moon rise (5:23pm) as you sip wine, dine on gourmet finger foods and socialize with some exciting and fun people!

This is an easy to moderate hike approx. 4 miles rt., and is DOG FRIENDLY, if your dog is friendly, leashed and well mannered.

WHERE:

Rocky Peak/Hummingbird Trail Rock Outcroppings

DIRECTIONS:

From the San Fernando Valley, head west on the 118 Freeway and exit at Rocky Peak Road. Park on the north side of the off-ramp. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE BRIDGE or in front of the gate.

From Simi Valley, head east on the 118 and exit at Kuehner Drive. Go right (south) on Kuehner until it becomes Santa Susana pass Road. Follow it east to the top of the pass and the parking area.

Meet at the trailhead, We'll start the hike at approx. 4:30pm. Call me at[masked] if you are going to be late or need some info.

WHAT TO BRING:

*H2O... AT LEAST 1.5 LITERS. IF YOU HAVE DOGS, TWICE AS MUCH.

*A headlamp or flashlight (the last full moon hike, we were able to see the trail all the way down, but used light to view a gopher snake, baby white owls and tarantulas along the trail!)

*Some shoes that have a little tread. As much as I LOVE my 4 inch heels, I would not wear them on this trail after drinking a few glasses of wine. Just sayin'...

*A jacket and a dry shirt to change into (it's a bit of an uphill hike and you will definitely sweat!)

*Some kind of beverage and/or finger food to share with others... ie. wine... beer... sparkling water... apples and brie, hummus and carrots, chips and dip, thai beef salad, filet mignon... you know, the usual stuff you would take on a picnic!

* YOUR ENTHUSIASM! =D
